What does it mean to Heal?

Still life of rock with healing in Japanese script

Let us be a healing presence with every kind word we speak and every gentle action we take, for they have the power to transform and inspire the well-being of us all…

TO BE HEALED IS TO REVEAL THE TRUTH ABOUT WHO WE ARE IN OUR AUTHENTICITY…our WHOLENESS.  This is a spiritual truth.  We have come to this level of our experience to live out our soul’s purpose for being here.  Being open to uncovering that purpose is where our conscious spiritual journey begins.  This is where we begin to design a pathway in which we allow ourselves to be guided by its wisdom and have the courage to move forward with the intention to evolve into our wholeness.

Our journey brings to us many wonderful surprises by way of the people we meet and the circumstances thereof.  And through these interactions, we find ourselves in a place where everything we experience has purpose and meaning when we are open to that realization.  We will also find ourselves having been influenced by all the traditions, belief systems, and many other environment and social conditions that have shaped our lives.  This is where we may have taken on those things that are readily accepted as the truth of who we are.  And in matters of health, we have been told that certain things will probably happen to us due to our family history and genealogy, age factors, social conditions, and so on.  All of these things and more have contributed to our state of mind and therefore the reflection of it in our body, spirit, and soul.

Healing means being open and receptive to changing the way we think and look at things, especially when they may have been the root cause of what ails us. Let us Power-of-Gratitudereclaim our right to live healthy lives by loving ourselves more deeply and being mindful of what we embrace into our own belief systems.  And in the process of doing so, let us be grateful for the opportunities to grow and recognize how very blessed we are to live in a place where medical attention is readily available to us for curing illnesses in our physical bodies.  We are also blessed to be surrounded by those who help us heal through holistic measures by their ability to look intuitively at the whole person and not just the separate components of a person’s bodily functions.  The beautiful thing is that many in the medical profession have now come to some level of understanding that the use of both medical and holistic practices can work together to create a greater sense of balance in people with health challenges.

Balance is the underlying factor to healing.  It is when we are out of alignment that dis-ease and illness come to the surface by exposing it throughout our physical body.  Please note that this is not something we need to judge ourselves and others about because there are many underlying factors that we may or may not be aware of such as an embedded issue within our soul from a previous life, or from something that traumatized us in our early childhood.   Simply understand with the utmost compassion that these discomforts within our body are significant messages that capture our attention to what may really be going on with us.  Our soul as well as our higher spiritual power are guiding us to look for the truth within these circumstances in order for us to heal and ultimately reveal the absolute truth of our being.  Listening to these divine messages will catapult us forward into living more profoundly in our desire to live a balanced and healthy life.

fairy1-237x300For instance a few years ago, an illness took over my life which left me frustrated and unable to function normally for some time.  Being in this situation was not easy for me because I understood and taught others about the mind, body, spirit, and soul connection, and yet found myself suffering.  It reaffirmed my belief that we all teach what we ourselves need to learn.  That is why we are called to it.  So, I surrendered it all to my higher power and allowed the process of healing which included being guided to the right people to assist me.  And over time, the realization came to me that the beauty of this situation was to gently (or not so gently as it were) remind me once again, to realign my thoughts which were in a state of uncertainty at the time, as well as to follow what I felt called to do with my ministry, which I have been denying for quite some time.   The bottom line was that I was living in denial of who I am, and allowed my thoughts to stray away from my own truth.  And because of that, I was completely out of balance which reflected itself in my physical body and emotional well-being.  The interesting thing is that once I came to this realization and took steps to moving forward, my health got significantly better and rather quickly.  No surprise there, right?

While I believe we have the power to heal ourselves, there are those time when we are too close to the situation to see clearly what ails us.  This is where the medical professional or holistic practitioners can assist us.  We are all very familiar with how medical technology serves us and are grateful for its own designated healing purposes.  However, because we are looking at this from a spiritual viewpoint, let us look a little closer at healing from a holistic point of view.

Again, treating a person from this perspective takes into consideration the whole person which includes their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.  Social conditions are also a part of this process because it allows the practitioner to recognize patterns that may have developed by the belief systems that have subconsciously governed the thoughts of the individual.  All of these things affect energy levels, specifically within the seven energy centers known as chakras which are aligned along the spine. These chakras serve as an opening for energy to flow in and out of our aura.  These chakras also affect our body shape, glandular processes, chronic physical ailments, thoughts, and behaviors because each chakra is associated with a specific endocrine gland.  For instance, the heart chakras is associated with the b14b4c6b505bc6dcd5a9a5c8a27eb1b7thymus gland which affects our breathing and from where allergies originate.   The imbalance occurs when one or more of the chakras are not open or working at full capacity, leaving others to compensate for them in order to keep the energy flowing at some functional level.  We can clearly see how balancing these energy centers are instrumental to our health and well-being.

There are many healing modalities derived from ancient wisdom that are available today in an effort to bring people back into alignment with their natural flow of energy.  Choosing a modality that resonates with our own sense of self is of the utmost importance because we must be open and receptive to its healing power.  We have available to us practitioners who can assist in our healing when we are not able to through the use of Yoga, Reiki, Color Therapy, Sound Healing, Conscious Breathing, Meditation, Physical Exercise, Guided Visualization, Affirmations, Crystal Healing, Aromatherapy, Spiritual Mind Treatment, Qigong, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and other notable energy healing measures.  All of these modalities are wonderful healing tools because they deal with balancing or changing the energy in our psychophysical system.  All of life is energy, so it makes perfect sense to come from this premise in the practice of healing or anything else for that matter.

The key to healing is that we avail ourselves to change and open ourselves up to living more in balance with our own sense of self…our authenticity.  Aligning ourselves with thoughts of love and gratitude for life itself opens a way for us to evolve more into our wholeness, and therefore our well-being.  Let us recognize the Source of our aliveness, set our intentions to heal by being open to revealing the truth of who we are, and have unwavering faith in the process knowing that what we desire will  indeed come to pass.   Let us be gentle with ourselves and others, and know that we are always supported by a most loving Universe.

Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you.  Namaste’.

Hi Regina, it is so hard trying to heal others when you are struggling. I found a similar situation when I was trying to heal others and found I couldn’t help my son. I felt like a fraud. Doubting that I could help anyone, my self esteem spiralled out of controlled. Shaking my foundation of trust. Years later I understand that he is a work in progress and my slow progression with him did eventually help so many others. I chose to support to help him release his past karma. I had put up my hand, “yeh sure I will help your soul through this rocky patch”. But I was unaware of the trauma it would inflict on me. Its all part of the process and having come through the worst of it. I now understand that it has helped me clear more obstacles within me, so I can be a clearer channell to assist others in their healing journey.
