Divine Consciousness

presence_of_gaiaIt is through our own Divine Consciousness that we are empowered to create a life that emanates from a place of understanding the nature of our own divinity

WITHIN US lies the Presence of Life itself…a Divine Consciousness that moves through our being as natural as the air we breathe…it is our very breath, our divinity, our awareness.  We are pure consciousness in motion and are intertwined with every aspect of life itself. Whatever we want, need, or desire to express is only a powerful creative thought away from being so. We simply need to direct our heartfelt intentions with confidence and in faith knowing that our dreams, aspirations, and resolutions are taking magnificent form right now.

Divine Consciousness, from the perspective of our mental awareness will help us to understand how we relate to and create the world around us.  Many of us are familiar with the term, “Christ Consciousness” which suggests to us that we all have the power and wisdom to create our lives from that innate love present within us just like Jesus Christ did when he lived on earth.  Being in this higher state of mental awareness opens us up to being more compassionate with ourselves and others.  It is a way of being that invites us to honor every living thing knowing that we are all expressions of the Divine.  It is learning to walk on our path with immeasurable faith.  It encourages us to cultivate peace, calm, and patience.  It is being kind and loving. It is about living in gratitude. It is being mindful and discerning with our thoughts knowing how powerful they are in creating our circumstances, and how they ultimately influence us all.

This “Christ Consciousness”  we speak of is that higher level of awareness that Jesus exemplified in his life.  This level of awareness lies deeply within us as our “Higher Self”, which emanates from our Divine Consciousness. It is from that place that Jesus lived and created his life.  He lived in faith knowing who he was and what he came here to do.  He allowed himself to be guided to fulfill his divine purpose.  He embraced his innate wisdom to understand how Life responded to his feelings, thoughts and words as seen throughout his story.  He encouraged others in his day to embrace that divine presence within themselves.  And he continues to be an inspiration to us today.

While Jesus was a great example for us to follow, and mention him because we are entering the Holiday Season, there are many other enlightened souls who have inspired the masses. People like Mother Theresa, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King have allowed themselves to be guided to act out of love by something much greater than themselves. We have also been inspired by ordinary people doing extraordinary things. We know who they are.  Perhaps some of you reading this have inspired others.  This I am sure of.  Why?

We are all beautiful souls with a gift to share that comes to light through our individual uniqueness.  This is a significant part of our life’s journey.  Like Jesus and other enlightened souls, we too are guided by something much greater than ourselves that helps us to remember who we really are in our authenticity, what it is we are here to share, and what we are here to do.  We need only to become more aware of how that guidance comes to us.  And when we are open to it, we will move more gently through our lives with a greater sense of purpose and a more profound feeling of our connection to all that exists.  We will know that everything that happens within us, outside of us, and through us is in absolute divine order.  We will come to a place of knowing that behind everything we experience is an awareness that reflects our divinity.

Please know that where we are in this moment is exactly where we need to be…no judgment.  Once we accept and understand this, we will also come to know that there is no set way in which to move into higher levels of our conscious because we have the freedom to choose how to live within our own sensibilities with the understanding we have in any given moment.  Life moves in stages, and we learn as we go.  There is no other way.  We will embrace our divinity more fully when we learn to trust that life works for us all equally through the loving support of the Universe, which involves every one of us.

“When we learn to trust the Universe, we shall be happy, prosperous and well”.

~ Ernest Holmes

So, how do we learn to trust the Universe?  We are invited to observe without judgement how our lives are unfolding, especially when we focus on all the positive outcomes.  We can see it through all the synchronicity, so-called coincidences, and miracles that happen in our lives.  We all have wonderful stories about these kind of events, do we not?  The more we observe, the more we believe, and the more we believe, the more our trust deepens.  The truth from this perspective is that the more we trust that we are always supported by a most loving Universe, the more aware we become of how it works magnificently in and throughout our lives.

This is not to say that the Universe only supports us when things are going well. We are always supported even when we are not able to see  it through the times when we feel challenged or experience difficulties.  The loving support lies within these events and are in fact highly significant to our journey because they can awaken us to a deepened sense of our higher self.  When we recognize that everything happens for a reason and that it all serves to expand our level of awareness, we will begin to understand just how the Universe truly works for us and how it brings to light everything we need to learn, heal, and grow.

The way in which we experience life is directly related to how we interact with it through our consciousness.  For instance, if we want to feel loved, we have to bring forward the love we already are by being loving with ourselves and others.  If we want friends, we have to be a friend and have a friendly demeanor.   If we want peace in our lives and in the lives of others, we have to be at peace with ourselves. We are pure energy emitting and transmitting all our thoughts and feelings throughout our own beingness, our environment, and throughout the Universe. It is through this powerful energy that life responds to us in kind, and ultimately influences the collective and unity consciousness through the memes or traditions seen and felt throughout the world.  This is simply how life works through the Spiritual Laws that are activated by the vibration of all our thoughts…i.e. the Law of Attraction.

Cultivating our higher sense of self may also mean having the courage to remove the masks of our conditioning and begin to be honest with ourselves…by accepting all that we are and all that we are not.  We are invited to live and breathe in our authenticity.  We may need to let go of those things that no longer serve us in order to move forward.  We may also want to consider taking time to be still, perhaps in some form  of meditation or contemplation.  Allowing ourselves to be in the silence allows us to hear, feel, and sense who we are more profoundly, and awakens our divine nature.  The silence opens up the portals of our higher levels of consciousness and moves us into the realm of greater awareness.  An awareness that goes beyond our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and all that we experience.  We will feel more at peace with ourselves and are more equipped to respond to life from a more serene and balanced place of our beingness.  We will find ourselves being more creative and resourceful.  Our dreams will be filled with profound messages to guide us along our path.  We will have more courage to soar into those higher places within us that we have not dared to go before. We will begin to understand what it means to truly love ourselves, and how that love translates into loving others more deeply.

We are all here to help each other to heal, grow and evolve.  Let us embrace our divinity by sharing our love, light, and inspiration. Let us remember to take care of ourselves by also taking care of others. They go hand in hand. Doing so is the greatest leap forward to the peace we all seek…for it lies within us…it begins with us…IT IS US.

Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you.  Namaste’.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with many Divine Blessings.

Beyond the Voice of Reason

-Learning to listen to the voice of our heart gives us a greater sense of who we are in our authenticity for it knows not of the preconceived expectations nor the limitations of our mind…

HAVE YOU EVER KNOWN A PERSON WHO IS PERCEIVED TO BE  “the voice of reason”?  Have you been referred to as that presence for others?  People who demonstrate this loving and compassionate quality obviously learned many things throughout their journey and are therefore, willing to share with others what they have come to understand about life and the human experience. Since their wisdom seems to emanate from such a deeply loving and compassionate place, is it possible that these individuals may actually have embodied the true essence of how life moves through us?  Could they have allowed themselves to be guided by something greater than their individual mind?  A Voice Beyond Reason, perhaps?

Spiritual Truth…we have all heard this “still small voice”.  That gentle, yet powerful voice within us that speaks to us from our heart center.  It is the voice of our Intuition…that gentle voice that seems to come out of nowhere with something of a profound nature to share with us.  This voice is the presence of a higher and greater power that resides deep within us in a calm and peaceful manner.  This presence is eminently known as The Divine, God, Source, Spirit, Higher Self, Soul, Universe, or any other name that resonates with our own sensibilities.  However we choose to identify this presence, simply know that Intuition guides human nature in the same way animals are guided by their instinct.  The difference is that we have the choice to listen to it or not.

Again, we have all heard this gentle voice.  Oftentimes, in spite of what we may hear, we have chosen to follow our own way of doing things, yes?  And when we encountered results that were not beneficial for us, didn’t we feel like we “should” have listened to our Intuition?  Of course we have.  We stand in our own way at times don’t we?  So, what keeps us from following our intuition more often?  Consider this, we have all been conditioned throughout our life by everything we have ever experienced, and everything we have been told is the truth of who we are, what we should do, and how we should do it.   All of these things are neatly retained in our memory banks which contains all of the stories and events of our eternal lives.   And when we encounter a situation that triggers a memory, we will naturally reflect back and react in accordance with it.  No need to feel like we have failed in some way because we didn’t listen though.  We simply keep moving forward and continue to learn.  Remember, everything happens for a reason.  And, our Intuition will guide us to understand the reason, when we are ready to hear it.

Our past history does not have to be the driving force behind how we continue to create our experiences regardless of whether the memory was a pleasant one or circumstances that may have challenged us.   It must be said however, that there are many significant clues of our authentic way of being within the things we have experienced.  Listening to our Intuition will help us discern what they are.  In any case, we have been given the incredible gift of choice, and this is where we can exercise it.  When we feel out of alignment with our own truth, want to live out unfulfilled dreams and aspirations, or simply want to find a solution to a problem; we may want to check in with our Intuition, listen to its guidance, and make a decision.  Keep in mind that our Inner Voice knows beyond reason who we are, and how to guide us into our desired reality.  The more we allow ourselves to be guided by our Intuition, the more readily we will be able to respond rather than react when a situation triggers a memory, simply because we will have come to realize that our past experiences are not the complete truth about who we are.  And even during those times when we forget, we will come back to center more quickly.

One thing is for certain, we must be open and receptive to how life responds to us through the things we may be guided to do or change by our Intuition.  Our Intuition is the greater aspect of our being and is what connects us spiritually to the Universe and everything that exists within it.  The reality is that we were born into the memes or traditions of all that has every been, and we are therefore recipients of all that has ever been known.  We are truly blessed to have the innate power to draw from all this wisdom through the Voice Beyond Reason expressing itself through us.

How do we nurture our Intuition so that we can be more in tune with it?  While we may hear its voice from time to time, the truth is that it is always speaking to us.  It is just not always easy to hear it through all the busyness and the barrage of  information that is constantly filling our minds.  We need to take the time to be still and quiet our minds enough to be able to hear it.  There is no set way in which to do this, however, some form of meditation is a powerful way in which to enhance our ability to tap into its wisdom.  When we sit and meditate for instance, we are creating a space in our consciousness in which our Intuitive Voice can infuse valuable information into the vastness of the now opened channels of all thought.  Taking a walk or being out in nature is also a wonderful to way to practice being, because it is through our beingness that we open the portals of our consciousness and invite the calm essence of that Divine Voice within us to be heard more readily.  These are some of the ways in which we can increase our awareness of this magnificent force already and always present within us.

So, how do we know when we are receiving guidance from our Intuition?  When we receive a thought or hear a soft, gentle voice come through all other thoughts, it is probably from our Intuition.  If the thought seems to have no apparent reason for popping into our consciousness, it is probably the Voice of our Intuition.  If the thought comes through as a gentle feeling or sense of something moving through us without any emotion attached to it, it is probably from our Intuition.  If the thought comes through in a very calm and matter of fact way and feels like the answer we were waiting for, we are probably receiving a message  from our Intuition.  When we awaken from a dream feeling like there was something meaningful in it or leaves us wondering, it was probably our Intuition sending a message to guide us in our waking hours.  These are just a few of the ways our Intuition makes its presence known to us.  How we experience these moments of truth may of course be different for each one of us.

Let us look at the guidance we receive from our mind.  Throughout our life’s journey, we have had to learn many things in order to sustain our physical existence.  We have received sound wisdom from this guiding force  in order to keep us informed with regards to our safety, what resonates with our individuality, our personal likes and dislikes, the many lessons we have learned, and so much more.  We are encouraged to honor this guidance for it has and will continue to serve us well.  When we feel the urge to move beyond the things or ideas that no longer serve us however, we may want to invite our Higher Self to direct our lives…the Voice that speaks to us from our Heart.  Why?  Our mind, while an integral aspect of our wholeness, is limited in its ability to guide us because of its nature.  Our Intuition on the other hand, has unlimited knowledge of who we are in our totality, and goes beyond what we may be able to see through our mind’s eye alone, and directs us lovingly into the realm of infinite possibilities.

So, when we receive guidance from our magnificent mind, it will come from a place of reasoning, a place in which we have learned to live and thrive in our environment.  We need this voice of reason…that intellectual side of us.  We are simply encouraged to be discerning enough to see  whether its guidance is holding us back from doing something based on past experiences or encouraging us to move forward based on the notion that anything is possible.  And even when it seems promising, let us take a moment and check in with our Intuition to be sure we are not limiting ourselves or making choices that keep us from living in our joy.  Let us all find that delicate balance to accept only that which moves us into our greatest unfoldment.

Listening Beyond the Voice of Reason then is a beautiful reminder for us to engage purposely in the unlimited wisdom of it gentle power by fully embracing it as a natural aspect of our divine being.  It is not outside of us.  While we are inspired by those who can assist us in our spiritual growth, the ultimate inspiration comes from the divinity within us.   All we need to do is listen…

Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you.  Namaste.

The Beauty of Miracles, Synchronicity, and Coincidences

nature-women-fantasy-359240 We are all here to share something with each other by way of inspiration, to catch a beautiful glimpse of ourselves, or simply to observe a reflection of how life is meant to be enjoyed…

Whatever we choose to call them, Synchronicities and Coincidences are those unexpected and surprising occurrences in our lives that are composed of two or more events that happen simultaneously and seem to come out of nowhere.  We may call them Miracles.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?  COINCIDENCES?  AND WHAT DO YOU SEE IN SYNCHRONICITIES?   Those unexpected and seemingly unexplainable events that happen without any kind of warning or notice?  Those events that give us the greatest surprises and perhaps the most prolific view of how our own lives are unfolding?  How about the chance meeting of people we may or may not know?  And what about the animals that come into our view that seem to be communicating with us?  The things that catch our attention?  What about those times when we find ourselves in nature or elsewhere without planning to be there?

There are so many things that happen in life that seem to have no explanation. We may even call them miracles or phenomenons.  What exactly are miracles?  Most of us grew up thinking that miracles were something of a divine supernatural nature.  In a sense they are.  From this perspective, miracles are everyday occurrences that hold within them a sense of awe as well as gratitude for what seems impossible.  And for those who are of a mind to recognize it, may find a personal meaning behind their occurrence in just the right moment.

So, what exactly is behind these surprise events that we all experience?  First of all, everything happens for a reason, and everything is connected to everything else by virtue of the Universal Energy that connects us all in divine consciousness.  We are consciousness…pure spirit in the truest sense of our existence although expressed right now in physical form.  Perhaps you have heard the expression, “We are spiritual beings having a human experience”.  That is who we are in our most absolute authenticity.

Within this Universal Energy are Spiritual Laws that govern how all of life is expressed. It is within these same Laws that we experience our lives because  we are divinely connected to that powerful energy through our own energy field. Our energy field holds within it everything we have ever thought, done, and experienced throughout our eternal lives.  Therefore, every one of these coincidences and synchronicities have a causal reason for their occurrence in our lives today.  It may seem mind-boggling to think about this however, nothing happens by chance, even though we may think they do.

Most of us have heard about the Law of Attraction, and how we can tap into to its power through our thoughts and manifest those things we want to experience, right?  It is within this Spiritual Universal Law and others as previously mentioned, that we attract into our lives the people we meet, the things that come into our view, and everything else that are in keeping with our thoughts and those things that resonates with us on a conscious or subconscious level.  We emit our energy outwardly into the Universe as well as attract energy like a magnet into our own energy field.  So, it is through our own personal use of this powerful and creative Universal energy that these synchronicities and coincidences have been drawn into our lives through the people, places and the things that are involved in these surprising events.

Our lives are filled with these meaningful events.  We consider them as surprise events because we are not always thinking about each moment being connected to the next or the thoughts that are contained within them. That is why we are encouraged to remain open to life and go with the flow of whatever is happening.  And when we are blessed with one of these coincidences or synchronised events, we are encouraged to simply allow the beauty of these miracles to leave us in awe and gratitude. Incidentally, when we live in gratitude, miracles seem to happen more frequently simply because being grateful increases the energy we emit into the creative Universe which we have learned always responds to us in kind.  Creating a vision for our lives, or setting an intention invites the Universal Energies to respond in surprising and awe-inspiring ways as well.  We do not need to know how things will materialize, just know that they will.  Have faith, be open and receptive, observant….and most of all, patient.

Within every miracle, synchronicity, and coincidence is a divine message.  It is up to us to decipher what that is.  Sometimes, we may find ourselves looking for the answer only to uncover it right within the question itself.  And there are other occasions when we may overlook the inevitable because our emotions have gotten in the way of our inner wisdom.  Whether we determine what the answers are now or later, they will come when we are ready to see them…perhaps in hindsight.  We are all messengers of light, and so the interactions we encounter has meaning for everyone and everything involved…no coincidences.  We need only to know what is ours to embrace in our own life’s journey,  and leave others involved in the encounter to come to their own conclusions.

What we think about and ultimately attract into our circumstances are all beautiful aspects of our soul’s  incredible journey.  We may not always be aware of what we are thinking or what is imbedded deep within our subconscious mind, however, the Universe does. Consciousness always come first…before the actual event happens, whether we are aware of it or not.  If we really look at all the miracles, synchronicities, and the coincidences that have crossed our path, we may be able to detect patterns that have left a glorious trail of how our lives have unfolded thus far.  Everyone we have ever met regardless of the length of time, as well as every circumstance thereof has led us to this moment of our unfoldment.

We are all divinely connected and these magical occurrences are testimony to that. It is this writer’s belief that some of the people we share our lives with today have been traveling with us throughout eternity in various relationships…in Soul Groups if you will.  Some of them show up for long periods of time while others for the short term…and perhaps for specific reasons that may have been agreed upon before coming to this expression of our existence.  Could it be that some of the people we encounter during these coincidences are actually individuals we may have known from another lifetime? For example, have you ever met someone with whom you felt an instant and deep connection…like you have known them forever?  Something to consider as a possibility, yes?  We live in a small world, so “they” say.  In essence we do.

Let us explore the possibilities within every miracle, synchronicity and coincidence, especially those that have greatly inspired us.  Everyone we meet and everything we experience has a divine purpose and ultimately leads us into our own reason for being here.  Life is a miracle in and of itself, and every experience is always in absolute divine order.  Let us simply look for the beauty within every one of these events knowing they are divine gifts to serve the well-being of us all.

Again, let us be open and receptive to the miracles of life knowing that within every coincidence and synchronicity is a divine blessing  just waiting to be realized into its full radiance.  Let us be mindful of who and what enters our experience because they are all clues into how our lives are unfolding.  And if you are up to it, observe how your life has evolved by looking back at some of the coincidences and synchronicities that have led you to a blessed event, a miracle, or into your current circumstances.

Let us live in constant gratitude and rejoice in the beauty and awe of all the surprises we encounter along our journey.   And let us be in tune with the callings of nature present in every living thing, and embrace the inspirations and profoundness that comes through every coincidence and every synchronicity thereof.  And most of all, let us fully embrace these magical occurrences with the understanding that life is indeed a blessing and a divine miracle for our enjoyment.

Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you.  Namaste’.

The Power of Laughter

Laughing Budha Face Closeup

Laughter is the catalyst for bringing forward a wide range of emotions that enables our soul to fully engage in its evolution…

We have all heard these expressions, right?  So, how exactly does laughing affect our soul, and how can it help what ails us?  We know that all of life and everything in it has a level of energy that manifests into many forms.  Laughter carries within it a high frequency of energy because it greatly affects our moods, emotions, mental states, physical health, and our sense of spiritual connection.  We all love to be around people who make us laugh, don’t we?  The joy that emanates from their sense of humor has a way of touching our souls at a deep level.  Some of these people have the innate ability to change the energy around any situation so that everyone feels lighter and more at ease.  And that is what it boils down to doesn’t it?  Isn’t the ultimate goal in life to be joyful and happy?

Is this to say that these people are always happy?  Perhaps yes, perhaps no.  Remember, happiness is a choice.  And choosing to be a happy does not necessarily mean we will be free of challenges.  How we manage to maintain our joy even through the rough times is the key.  Choosing to respond  in positive ways changes the energy around any situation for the better.  And laughter is one  way that can help us to do just that.  One of the most healing things we can do for ourselves is to not only choose to feel better, but look for ways in which we can create the kind of joy that triggers laughter and uplifts our spirit.  How can we go about this?

First of all, learning to love and embrace ourselves for exactly who we are is a great foundation for joy and happiness to play an active role in our daily lives.  It goes without saying that surrounding ourselves with people who lift our spirit is a great way to stay in our joy as well.  Carefully choosing our entertainment  is also very4556721-happy-laughing-faces-carved-out-of-wood important in keeping our energy at the level of joy.  We may want to choose movies and television programs that make us feel good and brings out the best in us.  Have you ever noticed your body’s reaction, as well as your overall feeling  by what you may be seeing, hearing and experiencing while watching a  movie for instance?  What emotions are being triggered? Are you laughing?  Does it make you feel happy?  Sad? Let us choose wisely.  It can make all the difference in our overall feeling of joy from which laughter emanates.

There are many forms of entertainment that encourage laughter.  Many of them encourage us to laugh at ourselves, which helps us in not taking ourselves too seriously.  It is however, important for us to distinguish the difference between that which is meant to be funny, and those things that are shared with laughter as a means to diminish or make fun of individuals or groups of people.  There is a fine line between what is funny and what has the appearance of humor.  Listening to our intuition, paying attention to the direction of our thoughts,  and how our bodies react to various types of humor will help us to determine what truly resonates with our  sensibilities.  Just something to consider.

Laughter has tremendous power, a kind of energy that encompasses many emotions, feelings and physical responses as mentioned earlier.  While laughing triggers joy and happiness, it can also be used to cover up what we are truly feeling.  We may incite laughter from a subconscious level  to help us overcome nervousness or to create a diversion when we feel uneasy.  Whatever the reason, for which there is no right or wrong, laughter can help us deal with any situation…hence its power.  And when we learn to live more in alignment with our authentic nature, we will be gently guided to move through those things that may be standing in the way of our true joy.  In essence, laughter is a graceful way in which our soul can evolve in all its magnificence as us because it opens up the channels for healing.

masksWhile laughter is very healing, so is crying.  It is interesting to note that laughing and crying are very closely related.  In fact, they are opposites of the same thing…joy. Have you ever started out laughing and ended up really crying?  Our laughter in this case, could have triggered the emotional pain we may be holding onto at a deep level from either a subconscious level or something we are moving through in the present.  And because crying touches the opposite side of laughing, our tears will flow naturally.  Likened to laughing, crying also serves as a healing mechanism because they both help to relieve or release the pain.  And both responses can bring us back into our joy.   There are also those occasions when we laugh and cry uncontrollably at the same time in response to something we felt was hilarious.  This again, is because we are moved at a very deep level by whatever triggered our emotions of joy…or sorrow.  Kahlil Gibran, in his book, “The Prophet” (pg. 29), shares with us his profound wisdom by stating in part that, “Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.  And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.”  Something to think about isn’t it?  From a physical standpoint, laughing and crying helps to relieve the stress and tension we may be carrying  in our bodies, and simply makes us feel better and more relaxed.

So, why does laughing in itself make us feel so good?   When we laugh, the body releases endorphins which are the chemicals that make us feel good.  Laughter promotes balance in our lives because it invokes a sense of well-being within our heart, mind, spirit, and soul.  Again, this is because laughing helps us to let go of emotional, mental, and physical pain.  Have you ever laughed so much that you forgot what you were upset about…even temporarily?  And when you stopped laughing, weren’t you in a better frame of mind and able to handle things from a different perspective?   Didn’t you feel lighter?

We are given many opportunities to laugh along our journey when we are open to it.  We may even consider cultivating a sense of humor ourselves.  Why wait for others to make us laugh?  Sharing our joy through laughter makes us feel more connected to each other, because it is a beautiful form of communication.  Most of us are so busyimages6 in our lives with all the serious stuff that has our attention.  Let us not forget to take care of our inner child by doing things that are fun and promote our sense of lightheartedness.  Let us give ourselves permission to laugh more.

A very dear friend made her transition only a few days ago.  Writing this post on laughter turned out to be very timely.  She was a magnificent example of how joy radiated through her sparkling eyes, and the ability she had to make everyone around her laugh with delight.  I can still hear her singing that silly song on her voice mail message which included her laughing at the end of it.  It makes me smile just thinking about it.  In preparing for her Celebration of Life Service, I found myself laughing out loud at all her antics.  The truth is, I also found myself crying in almost the same breath that followed my laughter.  She was and will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her because of the joy she shared with us in spite of her challenges.  Wouldn’t it be great if we could all be remembered for our joy, our laughter and how we made others feel because of our lightheartedness?  Laughter can definitely keep us out of our heads and into our hearts.  Thank you angel for sharing your love, light, and laughter with us while you were here.  Your beautiful spirit will always be a source of joy throughout eternity.

What about smiling?  How does that relate to the power of laughter?  Smiling is a radiant prelude to laughter.  Wearing a smile sends a powerful message  into the Universe that we are open to the joys of life.  Heartfelt smiling like laughing, is positive energy, and influences the way we touch others and ultimately experience our lives.  So, let us smile and laugh wholeheartedly together in divine harmony with the understanding that doing so affects greatly our own and collective well-being.  Let us be spontaneous in our joy.  Did you know that sharing our joy raises the vibration of the love within us all?   And by the way, when was the last time you really laughed…out loud?

Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you.  Namaste’.

The Way of Wisdom

Athena__Goddess_of_Wisdom_by_violscraper May we be open to the wisdom of all that we have been, all that we are in this moment, and all that we are becoming…for there in lies the loving guidance of our magnificent and evolving soul.

OBSERVE…LISTEN…LEARN…These are the practices of the Sage, the Shaman, the Guru, and all those who cultivate wisdom as a means to create a life with great purpose and divine love.  Have you ever noticed the demeanor of the people we perceive as being wise?  They are the calm, peaceful souls.  They are great listeners.  They appear mindful in everything they say and do.  They are loving, kind and giving.   They control their emotions most of the time.  They speak their own truth without making anyone else feel “wrong”, because they honor the beliefs and opinions of others.  They have a great sense of humor because they do not take themselves too seriously.  They are all these things and more, and continue to walk their path with great humility and grace.

How can we cultivate this kind of wisdom in our own lives?  While we may be inspired by those who have gone before us, it is up to us to cultivate our own level of wisdom by following our path one inspirational step after another. Perhaps we can begin by learning something from the owl pictured in this writing.  We know that owls have always been associated with wisdom, so let us look at some of their traits.  They have an acute sense of hearing and focus on what they are listening to.  They possess great depth perception because of their binocular vision.  They have the ability to change their views simply by turning their heads all the way around.  Being nocturnal birds, they also have the capability to see in the dark.  And because of these characteristics, they are considered in symbology to be clairvoyant due to their ability to see things that are hidden…as in the dark.  Freedom, secrets, observation, and the ability to see the total truth are also aspects of their symbolic meaning.  Can you see their connection to wisdom?

From my understanding, owls have been linked to wisdom since the days of Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom in Greek Mythology.  We may have seen her pictured with the owl  to symbolize her wisdom many times.  Although some believed the owl was used because there was an abundance of them living throughout the Parthenon (her first temple) which sits on top of the Acropolis in Greece,  many also felt that because the eyes of the owls glowed in the dark, these birds appeared to have an inner light.  As you may know, Athena was aptly named the Goddess of Wisdom because she was very wise and discerning.  She displayed these qualities in her roles as  judge, diplomat and mediator.  She is also associated with logic and intellect, and most of all her compassion.  While she was associated with war, she  was actually not in combat, but rather tried to stop conflict from occurring.  When she was not able to do so however, she did fight for her side…you may have heard the story of the Trojan Horse, which apparently was her clever idea.

Taking into consideration the insights we may have received thus far, let’s go back to looking at the three basic practices of cultivating wisdom mentioned earlier.  Let us observe what is going on in our lives by paying attention to our thoughts, feelings, and emotions…how we express them outwardly throughout our circumstances, or whether we hold on to them in our minds, and where we are carrying them inside our bodies.  Along with that, let us observe the people, the things, the situations, and the events in our own environment and in the world, and discern how we relate to all of them.  Our sense of awareness will be heightened through the practice of observation.  We will also come to understand more fully how the Universal Laws are working in our lives by what we are attracting into it, and what we are attracted to.  We will be more sensitive to the energy we are absorbing and how it affects our well-being.  We will also become aware of the energy we are emitting.  We will be more in tune with our intuition and the messages we are receiving.  Observing how we relate to virtually everything gives us much insight into what resonates with our authentic nature and what does not.

Listening intently is another important practice in gaining wisdom.  When we really listen, we will be able to focus on what is being conveyed in our communication with people, our pets, the things in our environment, the sounds we may hear in nature, and especially the chatter that goes on in our heads.  It is a means by which we are able to understand the relationship we have to everything.  When we practice mindful listening in our interactions with people, which includes paying attention to body language, we will be able to discern what is being communicated more readily.  Being fully present and giving someone our rapt attention is one of the most loving things we can do.   Not only do people feel important and heard, we can learn more about who they are, the common bond that exists within the relationship or encounter, and where we may be able to support them or each other.  The more we listen, the more we learn.

Learning from our own experiences is yet another way in which greater wisdom can be developed.  Things happen for a reason, and therefore the lessons within our experiences are highly significant to our personal and spiritual growth.  We are encouraged to always be open to learning because we never know where our insights may come from.  They could very well come from what we see and hear in nature, our beautiful children, inspirational movies and books, spiritual teachers, simple observations in our daily lives, and so much more.  “When the student is ready, the teacher always appears”…so the saying goes.

The beautiful thing about paying attention to all these things is that we will develop a great memory in which all that we have learned is retained for future guidance.  We will become more compassionate because we will have grown in our understanding of our interactions with people, the events in our lives, and the situations that come up.  We will be able to see things from a greater perspective and with deeper insight.  We will be more in alignment with our own authentic way of being.  We will become more open and flexible in our thinking, and not take anything personal.  We will become more aware and mindful of how we respond to our circumstances rather than reacting to them through our feelings and emotions.  We will become naturally calmer and more in the flow of a higher level of consciousness.

Remember Athena?  She was called upon to make a difficult decision when a man named Tiresias accidentally saw her when she was bathing.  This act was punishable by law because of her position.  Instead of passing the normal judgment, her divine wisdom and compassionate heart made another choice by putting her hands over his eyes causing him to be blinded.  At the same time however, she gave him inner sight…the gift of prophecy, to which he became the most sought-after Oracle of his day.  In essence, he was blessed by her calm and peaceful nature that greatly influenced her decision to respond with an alternate choice that obviously emanated from a higher level of consciousness.

Like Athena, let us be inspired to make decisions and choices from a place of divine love.  Let us grow from what we have already learned through our experiences and allow that wisdom to guide us into making today’s choices that will make a significant difference in our tomorrows.  When we use our wisdom and connect it with our heart and soul, it will bring forward the very best in all of us.  Let us share mindfully our wisdom and be open to the wisdom of others with the intention of creating a sacred and safe space in which we are all inspired to continue walking on our path feeling supported.  We are all here to help each other grow into our divine wholeness.

We are all encouraged to move beyond trying to wrap our heads around the things we do not understand, and wrap our hearts around them instead.  The outcome will be surprisingly insightful.  Let us observe life unfold gently through us, as us, and around us.  Let us listen acutely to the guidance of our own inner voice, and listen attentively to others with an open heart.  Let us continue to learn from our experiences knowing that they are filled with many pearls of wisdom.  And in the process of cultivating our wisdom, let us also keep our sense of humor because life is meant to be enjoyed.  This is the way of divine wisdom.

Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you.  Namaste’.

Going With The Flow…

When we go with the flow of whatever is happening in our lives, we will come to realize that harmony and divine order is always unfolding because they are in agreement with our thoughts, words, and actions. This is a beautiful thing…

ARE YOU GOING WITH THE FLOW?  If so, what do you think it means from the standpoint of spiritual growth?  And if not, do you think it matters?  Let me begin by saying that we are always right where we need to be, and that everything  happens exactly the way they are meant to happen.  This may seem a bit unrealistic especially considering some of the extraordinary challenges we may have had to face.  You may even wonder if everything happens just the way they are meant to, why are we trying to grow in the first place?  Are we just here to live out our destiny?  Having been asked these questions after a recent talk inspired me to share some thoughts with you about it, keeping in mind that much of what we manifest comes from a subconscious level of our awareness or an even deeper aspect of our eternal soul.

Throughout our soul’s journey, we have encountered many circumstances that have inspired us to continue moving forward on our path with great joy and anticipation.  We have demonstrated many rewards given our talents and abilities to excel in the things we are passionate about.  We are also blessed to live in a land of prosperity and abundance and therefore have the privilege to enjoy many things that reflect the outpicturing of all we have thought possible.   It really goes without saying then that when things are going great, it is very easy for us to go with the flow.

What about those time when we feel challenged?  Do we still feel blessed and want to go with the flow?  Many of us have experienced the kind of pain that seemed too much too bear, much less overcome.  It is within these moments that we may begin to understand that we cannot control how things happens in our lives.  Going with the flow during these heavier moments takes great courage and a kind of unwavering faith in a Higher Power within us that is much greater than the pain that we may be suffering.  We need only to be open to it and allow ourselves to be guided  through these moments of great change.

Many of us have envisioned our lives to turn out a certain way, and find ourselves being either overjoyed or disappointed when the looks of it changed.  We might ask ourselves, “What did I do to deserve this?” or “Why is this happening to me?”  Life is an eventful journey, and everything we encounter is meaningful.  Why?  Because ultimately, we are always in the flow of our own divine consciousness whether we are aware of it or not.  Meaning that our lives always unfold in divine order in accordance with our level of awareness at any given time, and in keeping with the spiritual laws of the Universe which always responds in kind.  There is no right or wrong, life simply moves in a natural flow of consciousness which cannot be measured, but can be seen through what we bring forward into our experiences.

For instance, many years ago I was fired from a job where I had worked for several years with an outstanding record.  I could not believe it!   How could this have happened to me?  I have always been a good employee!   My emotions ran rampant including feeling the shame of losing what I felt was my dignity and self-esteem.  Not to mentioned the uncertainty of wondering how I was going to provide for my son.  The realization came to me that I did not want to be employed there any longer, and subconsciously sabotaged myself by not working up to my normal standards.  Not only that, I was already looking for another job!  So, could we agree that my being fired was actually a outpicturing of my thoughts?  That perhaps the Universe was naturally creating out of the energy I was putting out there?  I did not want that job…right?  I just did not know how powerful my thoughts were at the time, and how they had the creative ability to move things before I was even ready to deal with the consequences.  I was simply given my desired outcome, which was directed by my thoughts and the actions that followed.  The how and when was never in my control.

We are encouraged to accept every moment for exactly what it is regardless of what it may look like.  It is through this acceptance that we gain the wisdom to understand that everything we experience has brought us to the next moment in which we have the power to create something new or recreate something  different out of an existing challenge.  It is important for us not to resist what is happening because when we do, we are actually giving it more energy to create more of the same due to the concentrated attention we are giving it.  The frustration we may feel also adds to the intensity of the energy.   In the long run, it is much easier to go with the flow and making peace with whatever the challenge may be.  It frees us up to be present for something much greater to unfold.

Life is like a beautiful river moving forward in a continuous flow.  There may be rocks or boulders, trees and other obstacles that stand in the way of its flow, but if you will notice, the water will move over, under, and around them in order to keep the water moving forward.  The river will also be calm in places or burst forth into heavy currents along the way, as well as the water falling downward into deeper waters.  We will also observe the river taking different turns going various directions creating yet another way for the water to move along its path.  There will be some stretches of water that reflects the light, and other part that may seem dark and murky.  Do you see the resemblance?  This is authentic about our own beautiful nature.  In fact, we are nature in human form.

We are always guided by our thoughts which influence the words we speak and the actions we take.  And those actions are reflective of how we relate to the world with our own unique personality, which dictates the way we experience our lives.  This is why we are encouraged by Lao Tzu to live in mindfulness in our daily lives.  Whatever the level of our awareness,  just know that everything we experience is significant to our spiritual growth and unfoldment.   We all have a divine purpose for being here, and it is up to us to uncover what that is if we choose to follow our soul’s guidance.  In essence, we have both a destiny and freedom of choice.  It is up to us to determine how to move forward by choosing what is right for us…not what is deemed right by others. And likened to a river, we have the power to change directions and find another way to move forward on our journey.  There is no right or wrong way.

Life is truly a magnificent journey complete with all the laughter, the tears, and every heartfelt emotion.  Allow it all to flow naturally by letting go of the need to control.  Let us observe our lives without judgment of ourselves and others.  Be inspired by the knowledge that we have the power to direct our lives to a greater degree when we learn to be more conscious of our thoughts.  Let us remember to be gentle with ourselves  in the process.  The more we practice going with the flow, the calmer we will become, and the more at peace we will be because we won’t be taking ourselves so seriously.   Take time to laugh, play and enjoy life.  Take time to observe the harmony in nature.  And, remember that we are always supported by a most loving and supportive Universe.

Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you.  Namaste’.

What does it mean to Heal?

Still life of rock with healing in Japanese script

Let us be a healing presence with every kind word we speak and every gentle action we take, for they have the power to transform and inspire the well-being of us all…

TO BE HEALED IS TO REVEAL THE TRUTH ABOUT WHO WE ARE IN OUR AUTHENTICITY…our WHOLENESS.  This is a spiritual truth.  We have come to this level of our experience to live out our soul’s purpose for being here.  Being open to uncovering that purpose is where our conscious spiritual journey begins.  This is where we begin to design a pathway in which we allow ourselves to be guided by its wisdom and have the courage to move forward with the intention to evolve into our wholeness.

Our journey brings to us many wonderful surprises by way of the people we meet and the circumstances thereof.  And through these interactions, we find ourselves in a place where everything we experience has purpose and meaning when we are open to that realization.  We will also find ourselves having been influenced by all the traditions, belief systems, and many other environment and social conditions that have shaped our lives.  This is where we may have taken on those things that are readily accepted as the truth of who we are.  And in matters of health, we have been told that certain things will probably happen to us due to our family history and genealogy, age factors, social conditions, and so on.  All of these things and more have contributed to our state of mind and therefore the reflection of it in our body, spirit, and soul.

Healing means being open and receptive to changing the way we think and look at things, especially when they may have been the root cause of what ails us. Let us Power-of-Gratitudereclaim our right to live healthy lives by loving ourselves more deeply and being mindful of what we embrace into our own belief systems.  And in the process of doing so, let us be grateful for the opportunities to grow and recognize how very blessed we are to live in a place where medical attention is readily available to us for curing illnesses in our physical bodies.  We are also blessed to be surrounded by those who help us heal through holistic measures by their ability to look intuitively at the whole person and not just the separate components of a person’s bodily functions.  The beautiful thing is that many in the medical profession have now come to some level of understanding that the use of both medical and holistic practices can work together to create a greater sense of balance in people with health challenges.

Balance is the underlying factor to healing.  It is when we are out of alignment that dis-ease and illness come to the surface by exposing it throughout our physical body.  Please note that this is not something we need to judge ourselves and others about because there are many underlying factors that we may or may not be aware of such as an embedded issue within our soul from a previous life, or from something that traumatized us in our early childhood.   Simply understand with the utmost compassion that these discomforts within our body are significant messages that capture our attention to what may really be going on with us.  Our soul as well as our higher spiritual power are guiding us to look for the truth within these circumstances in order for us to heal and ultimately reveal the absolute truth of our being.  Listening to these divine messages will catapult us forward into living more profoundly in our desire to live a balanced and healthy life.

fairy1-237x300For instance a few years ago, an illness took over my life which left me frustrated and unable to function normally for some time.  Being in this situation was not easy for me because I understood and taught others about the mind, body, spirit, and soul connection, and yet found myself suffering.  It reaffirmed my belief that we all teach what we ourselves need to learn.  That is why we are called to it.  So, I surrendered it all to my higher power and allowed the process of healing which included being guided to the right people to assist me.  And over time, the realization came to me that the beauty of this situation was to gently (or not so gently as it were) remind me once again, to realign my thoughts which were in a state of uncertainty at the time, as well as to follow what I felt called to do with my ministry, which I have been denying for quite some time.   The bottom line was that I was living in denial of who I am, and allowed my thoughts to stray away from my own truth.  And because of that, I was completely out of balance which reflected itself in my physical body and emotional well-being.  The interesting thing is that once I came to this realization and took steps to moving forward, my health got significantly better and rather quickly.  No surprise there, right?

While I believe we have the power to heal ourselves, there are those time when we are too close to the situation to see clearly what ails us.  This is where the medical professional or holistic practitioners can assist us.  We are all very familiar with how medical technology serves us and are grateful for its own designated healing purposes.  However, because we are looking at this from a spiritual viewpoint, let us look a little closer at healing from a holistic point of view.

Again, treating a person from this perspective takes into consideration the whole person which includes their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.  Social conditions are also a part of this process because it allows the practitioner to recognize patterns that may have developed by the belief systems that have subconsciously governed the thoughts of the individual.  All of these things affect energy levels, specifically within the seven energy centers known as chakras which are aligned along the spine. These chakras serve as an opening for energy to flow in and out of our aura.  These chakras also affect our body shape, glandular processes, chronic physical ailments, thoughts, and behaviors because each chakra is associated with a specific endocrine gland.  For instance, the heart chakras is associated with the b14b4c6b505bc6dcd5a9a5c8a27eb1b7thymus gland which affects our breathing and from where allergies originate.   The imbalance occurs when one or more of the chakras are not open or working at full capacity, leaving others to compensate for them in order to keep the energy flowing at some functional level.  We can clearly see how balancing these energy centers are instrumental to our health and well-being.

There are many healing modalities derived from ancient wisdom that are available today in an effort to bring people back into alignment with their natural flow of energy.  Choosing a modality that resonates with our own sense of self is of the utmost importance because we must be open and receptive to its healing power.  We have available to us practitioners who can assist in our healing when we are not able to through the use of Yoga, Reiki, Color Therapy, Sound Healing, Conscious Breathing, Meditation, Physical Exercise, Guided Visualization, Affirmations, Crystal Healing, Aromatherapy, Spiritual Mind Treatment, Qigong, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and other notable energy healing measures.  All of these modalities are wonderful healing tools because they deal with balancing or changing the energy in our psychophysical system.  All of life is energy, so it makes perfect sense to come from this premise in the practice of healing or anything else for that matter.

The key to healing is that we avail ourselves to change and open ourselves up to living more in balance with our own sense of self…our authenticity.  Aligning ourselves with thoughts of love and gratitude for life itself opens a way for us to evolve more into our wholeness, and therefore our well-being.  Let us recognize the Source of our aliveness, set our intentions to heal by being open to revealing the truth of who we are, and have unwavering faith in the process knowing that what we desire will  indeed come to pass.   Let us be gentle with ourselves and others, and know that we are always supported by a most loving Universe.

Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you.  Namaste’.
